Po dwoch godzinach jazdu autobusem z Aric-i do La Paz, zaczalem czuc sie nieco nieswojo. Troche jakbym mial goraczke, choc moze wynikalo to tez z nieprzespanej nocy. Potem jeszcze kilka godzin po altiplano, pod najpiekniejszym niebem jakie kiedykolwiek widzialem i zjazd do najdziwniejszego miasta jakie kiedykolwiek widzialem - La Paz.
After 2 hours of a bus ride from Arica to La Paz I started to feel a bit worse. A little bit as if I had a fever, but it could be due to sleepless night the day before. We have just arrived to 3500m asl, but later it was even higher (4500) and I've crossed the border between Chili and Bolivia having very soft legs. Then a couple of hours on Altiplano, under the most beautiful sky I've ever seen and we descend to the strangest city I've ever seen - La Paz.
The trip itself was magical. From the see level, through the desert and deep canyon, on top of Altiplano, next to the vulcanos with ice caps and next to the Parque Nacional Lauca. And just after the border the is the highest peak in Bolivia - vulcano Sajama 6542m.

After getting above the desert, life emerges. It's completely different then in Europe, where the higher you get, the less living organisms you see. Flocks of birds, flamingos and lamas. The sky is electric blue, the wind is bloody strong and the cumulus stripes are long.

La Paz is situated in a massive hole in the ground. But - to be honest - it's a valley of the river that goes through the city. The river is named after the city. Next to La Paz, on the edge of the "hole" there is a city called El Alto - hight 4000m (La Paz is a bit lower). This is an antithesis of the city in Europe: the most important buildings are down in the hole, not on the hill. Moreover, the air is thin and the roads are steep - you either climb or descend and the breath is short. Over the city there is a gigantic vulcano Illimani - the second peak of Bolivia (6438m).

O La Paz bedzie nastepnym razem.
I will wrote about La Paz later. I can only say that the city is really pleasant and interesting. After experience with Lima I was surprised.
